YIMA s.r.o. grew naturally out of many years of hands-on work in electrical engineering, power engineering, industrial electrical installation and automation. The company is built on practical experience gained directly in operating environments – from high-power electrical and energy systems to production lines, automated technologies and the commissioning of industrial equipment.
From power electrical engineering to industry
My name is Jiří Matějka, I come from Hradec Králové and I am the founder of YIMA. I trained as an electrician specialising in power electrical engineering. My entire professional career has remained within the electrical field, gradually developing from power engineering and operational maintenance into industrial electrical installation, automation and technological equipment.

Railway power engineering – SŽDC
I gained my first professional experience as an employee of SŽDC, working with traction substations, rectifier substations and railway power-supply equipment. The technologies I worked with ranged from the 110 kV high-voltage input level through transformation and rectification equipment to 3,000 V DC traction power. My work included scheduled maintenance, equipment condition checks, fault diagnostics and troubleshooting, as well as maintaining the operational reliability of the power-supply systems.
Diesel generator power plants in Sudan
The next stage was my work as a service technician for diesel generator power plants in Sudan for NEC. This gave me hands-on experience with electrical power generation, service and maintenance of diesel generator sets, fault diagnostics and the resolution of technical problems directly under demanding operating conditions.
Industrial electrical installation and automation in Europe and Africa
My focus then shifted to industrial electrical installation and automation projects across Europe and Africa. My work included technological electrical installations, cabling and connection of industrial equipment, production technologies and automated systems. My experience also includes work on the Ingula project for Eskom in South Africa.
From self-employment to YIMA s.r.o.
After several years of professional experience, I took the step into self-employment. I continued working in the same technical field, gained further experience on industrial projects and gradually expanded my cooperation with other technicians and suppliers. As the number of projects increased, workloads began to overlap and larger installation capacities became necessary, I founded YIMA s.r.o. to support larger and more complex projects.
What we build on today
Today, at YIMA, we build on the experience I gained throughout my entire professional journey – from power electrical engineering, high voltage and energy systems through service work to industrial electrical installation, automation, production lines, robotic workstations, machinery and complete technological systems. Our key strength is practical experience directly in industrial environments, the ability to work confidently with technical documentation, and an understanding of how individual technologies interact during installation, maintenance, diagnostics and commissioning.
YIMA was not created as a purely commercial project behind a desk, but as the natural continuation of many years of practical work in electrical engineering and industry.
